Comfortable, Safe Short-Stay Accommodation in Darwin

YiSSA is a short-stay accommodation service – like a hostel. It is a safe place for people who don’t have anywhere else to stay.

Most of our guests come from out of town. Some cannot afford other accommodation, and some do not have family in Darwin to stay with. YiSSA is a safe, culturally appropriate place to stay, with 24-hour security to help keep everyone safe.

Can I stay at YiSSA?

  • I am visiting Darwin
  • I can pay for my stay when I check in
  • I know the longest I can stay is 28 days, and I’m okay with that

YiSSA is usually very busy and often full, so we have a waiting list. If you’d like to stay please fill in your details or get in touch with us to join the list.
If you can't stay at YiSSA, our team can talk to you about other options.

Your stay includes

  • Three meals each day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) in the dining room
  • 24/7 security on site
  • Laundry facilities you can use
  • Weekly cleaning of your room
  • Access to services onsite

How Much Is YiSSA?

  • $35 each night for 1 person
  • $45 each night for 2 people
  • Pay $50 Key Deposit at check-in,
    you will get this back when you return your room key
  • You must pay before you stay, one week in advance.
  • You can stay for atleast 1 night and up to 28 nights

Arrive at YiSSA

Wait until the YiSSA team says your stay is approved. Only come if someone from YiSSA has told you your room is ready.

Go through security check

When you arrive at YiSSA, security guard will greet you. They will check your bags. They are there for yours and others safety.

Check-in at reception

After your security check, go to the YiSSA reception to check-in. YiSSA team might ask you questions so they know who you are. You need to pay for your stay at check-in.

Look for your room

Once the YiSSA mob give you your key, you can go find your room. If you get lost or not sure where to go, just ask the staff, they’ll help you.

Arrive at your room

When you get to your room, that one’s just for you and anyone staying with you. You can have your own space and privacy here. Make sure you look after the room, keep it clean, and follow the rules.

Your room at YiSSA will have a private bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and mirror.

Laundry

There is laundry building at YiSSA to wash and dry your clothing. You can use these during your stay. If you need help, ask YiSSA team.

Main building

You can use shared spaces at YiSSA like reception, dining room, and kitchen. Be respectful to others and the place. Smoking area is nearby.

Kitchen & dining

You get breakfast, lunch and dinner when staying at YiSSA. There’s also a kitchen with microwave and grill so you can cook your own food.

Be Prepared For Your Stay, With Our House Rules.

Terms of Agreement
  • You must stay at least 1 night, and no more than 28 nights.
  • Rooms must be kept clean and tidy.
  • Fees must be paid before you stay.
  • All guests, including children, must check in at reception.
  • A room can have maximum 2 adults and 2 children.
  • A $50 deposit is needed. This is for lost keys, late rent, cleaning, or damage.
  • Bags must be checked by Security when you arrive or return to YiSSA.
  • Staff may enter and search rooms if they are worried about safety, wellbeing, or illegal activity.
What’s Not Allowed
  • No alcohol, drugs, drug items, dangerous items, aerosols, or pets.
  • No extra beds, cooking gear, speakers, or e-scooters.
  • Do not touch or damage fire safety equipment (including hoses) or CCTV cameras.
    This is illegal and you may be fined.
  • No smoking inside rooms. You may smoke outside your room.
  • If you, your children, or your visitors damage or lose YiSSA property, you might be charged.
  • Anyone who is drunk, violent, or unsafe (including visitors) will not be allowed in YiSSA.
  • No behaviour that upsets or harms others.
  • Aggression, violence, or fighting may mean immediate eviction.
Visitors
  • Visiting hours are 9:00am – 5:00pm.
  • Only guests can stay overnight.
  • All visitors must sign in and out with security, and complete bag search.
  • Your visitors must follow the rules too – you are in charge of them.
Children
  • Children must always be supervised by an adult.
  • Children must not be left alone in rooms or anywhere onsite.
  • After 9:00pm, children must stay in rooms with an adult.
We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable at YiSSA. When you stay here, you will need to sign a paper that says you agree to follow our House Rules.

Three meals a day are served in the dining room.
If you have any dietary needs or allergies, you can let us know at check-in.

Breakfast: 7-9AM
Lunch: 12-2.00PM
Dinner: 5-7PM

You can have a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children in each room.

Reception is open 7am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 8pm on weekends.

YiSSA is usually full. We cannot take walk-ins. To stay, you must fill in a waitlist form or contact us to join the list. Please don’t come straight to YiSSA without doing this, as there may be no room and we don’t want you to be disappointed.
