Homes Together Program

Helping Our Mob Stay In Housing

This program supports Aboriginal people in Darwin and Palmerston who are preparing to move into a new home or who may be having difficulties maintaining their current tenancy.

Homes Together provides practical, culturally grounded support through one-on-one sessions, group workshops and in-home assistance.

The program has been designed by Aboriginal tenants living in the Darwin area and includes modules on:
  • Money matters and budgeting
  • Tenancy rights and responsibilities
  • Managing your home, including noise, neighbours and tenancy rules
  • Repairs and maintenance
  • Healthy living and lifestyle support
  • Coping with stress and mental health challenges
  • Keeping safe and setting boundaries
  • Managing family pressures and visitors

Tenancy Sustainability Service offers:

Practical help in your home – support that fits your needs

Case management – a worker to help you deal with tenancy challenges

Connections to other services – health, family, financial or other support

Referrals Are Now Open

Everything we do is about helping you stay in your home, keep your independence, and feel supported.

Anyone renting in Darwin or Palmerston can access this support. You do not need to be a Yilli Housing tenant to use the service.

How to get support

  • You can refer yourself by contacting us directly or by using the referral form below.
  • You can ask another agency (government or community service) to refer you.
Our team will give you a warm referral to other services if needed.
This means we don’t just tell you where to go – we walk alongside you and help you get there.
