Outreach Services – Here to Support You

Yilli offers an Outreach Service from YiSSA to help people who don’t have a safe place to live in Darwin and Palmerston. This service is mainly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – men, women, families, and young people.

We know life can be tough, so our team works in a way that is safe, respectful, and caring.
We listen, we don’t judge, and we try to walk alongside you.
We will be out Monday to Friday in Darwin city, the suburbs, and Palmerston.
Look out for the food van or the Dignity Bus – we are here for you.
Yilli Housing is working in partnership with Lutheran Care and other agencies to ensure wraparound, culturally safe support.

  • Yarning with you about your needs
  • Giving support and speaking up for you when things are hard
  • Helping you connect with housing, health, or other services

Get Fed & Clean Clothes

You can get a free, healthy and tasty meal from the Outreach Van. You can also access clean clothing and hygiene essentials.
1300+ Nutritious meals provided in the first month of operation.
This shows how much the service is already helping people and being welcomed in the community.

Yissa Outreach Program, providing much needed support accross Darwin and palmerston.

Launched on 1 September 2025, the YiSSA Outreach Program expands Yilli Housing's reach across Darwin and Palmerston, connecting with rough sleepers and delivering vital, on-the-ground support. Funded by the Northern Territory Government in response to growing need, the program provides meals, hygiene packs, blankets and welfare checks - meeting immediate needs while building trust and pathways to care.

YiSSA Outreach is creating real change - offering safety, dignity and connection to those who need it most. It reflects Yilli Housing's commitment to culturally safe, community-led solutions that respond to the realities of homelessness in the Top End.

We helped a young mother and her six-month-old baby - who had been rough sleeping due to domestic violence - transition first into our DV rooms and then into 28-day short-stay housing.
She's now on the path to long-term stability.

If you don’t have a safe place to sleep, or are missing basic things like food, showers, and shelter, we are here to help. Yilli can help with a short-term place to stay, support during the day, and connections to other support services across the NT.
